Giant Puppets

Re-imagine the St George and the Dragon myth so to explore themes of cooperative problem solving and resource sharing. Imagine a new world without war or xenophobia. Our giant 35 foot dragon puppet magically captivates Staten Islanders of all ages.

1. IMAGINE: The Dragon from the hidden hills of Staten Island grows parched from the fire that she breaths. She relies on the watering hole in Tompkinsville Park to quench her thirst. But the villagers fear the Dragon and rely on the water for their own needs. Can an ordinary human being, help them resolve their differences, remember their interconnected fellowship, share the planetary resources in common, and save the dragon and themselves? St George and the Dragon will work it out!
   
   
2. Expect to see not only one dragon, but an entire parade of them in which you can participate as your favorite dragon! Join flower fairies, marching bands, doggie dragons, a dragon made entirely of recycled goods, and a community built giant dragon as they march through and around the park with the Wagner HS Marching Band. Come dressed as a dragon or flower fairy and celebrate our neighborhood.
