Electronic Waste Recycling Event

Bring your unwanted, working or non-working electronic equipment to be disposed of in an environmentally sound way. Electronics, just like they have radically changed the way we communicate, work, and play, have contributed a disproportionate amount of toxic materials to the waste stream.  Approximately 2% of our trash is discarded electronics, but an estimated 40% of heavy metals, such as lead, mercury and cadmium in landfills come from electronic equipment. These old clunky TVs and monitors contain between 4 to 8 pounds of lead, and when tossed in the trash can pollute our air and ground water.

Here is a list of acceptable materials: Working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, video games, cell phones and PDAs...
